In December 2011, the Arker Companies broke ground on the 53rd Street Apartments, located in the Community Board 4 catchment area (Midtown West).  Urban Pathways is partnering with Arker on this 13-unit permanent, affordable housing apartment building for low income, formerly homeless adults.  With Urban Pathways as owner, Arker is the developer under the NYC Inclusionary Air Rights Zoning Program.  Funding is provided by the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development.  Milbank Tweed provided pro bono legal services.  The building, estimated to be completed in December of 2012, will be part of Urban Pathways' Scattered Site Apartment program.
