Urban Pathways' Sixth Housing Residence in Development
|
On Thursday, January 26th, Urban Pathways purchased five connecting vacant lots to serve as the site for an 80-unit, mixed-used
supportive housing residence in the Bronx. Located at 1344 Clinton Avenue, the residence will be available for a mix
of formerly homeless single adults with special needs and low-income New Yorkers, with a preference for veterans in need of
housing. Acquisition financing was provided by the Corporation for Supportive Housing and the New York Acquisition
Fund; program funding will be provided by the City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH); and construction financing
from the City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and Low Income Housing Tax Credits syndicated by The
Richman Group. Deutsche Bank, the Robin Hood Foundation and the Vincent Mulford Foundation provided pre-development
grants. UP anticipates breaking ground in the summer of 2012 and completing construction 18 months later.
