Giving Tuesday 2018 with Urban Pathways!

After the shopping events post-Thanksgiving in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the official charitable season on Tuesday, November 27th with an entire day dedicated to giving back.

#GivingTuesday has become a staple in end-of-year giving and supports organizations like Urban Pathways and celebrates philanthropy during the holiday season. #GivingTuesday connects groups of communities, organizations, missions, and individuals worldwide with the goal of celebrating and encouraging giving.

Utilizing the power of social media, and those eager to give back, #GivingTuesday is bringing change to communities and expanding the need to give during the holiday season.

As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.”

Stay tuned for more from Urban Pathways as we will be creating a special page dedicated to Giving Tuesday!

Donations for Home Goods

The Amron House (in maroon) on 100th street in New Yokr City.

As fall beings, many people in the city and country will be transitioning back to school and work. A large part of this transition is for some, cleaning their closets out, getting rid of old clothes, home goods and preparing for the fall.

The other is moving into a new place for school or work, and getting all of your essential home goods for your new space and life.

In terms of moving, many of our formerly homeless clients are now gaining tenancy in our new supportive housing residences, and they need our assistance in helping them outfit their new apartments.

Urban Pathways is seeking new donations of various home goods, cleaning supplies, bathroom, and living essentials.

These home goods will be part of individual move-in kits for our newest residence named Amron House on 100th street in New York City.

Amron House to be opened later this fall, will feature 11 brand new 1-bedroom apartments for formerly homeless clients; as well as case managers and supportive programs to provide a smooth transition to permanent housing.

The new Amron House will provide the highest form of independent living under the continuum of supportive housing.

If you have any items you would like to donate that are not in the flyer please email development@urbanpathways.org.

Help us continue to provide #thewayhome to homeless and at-risk New Yorkers.

Labor Day Barbecue at Cluster

Residents at Cluster House pose for a picture at their holiday barbecue

This past Labor Day, Urban Pathways staff at Cluster House in New York City treated residents to a holiday barbecue!

This end of summer barbeque was the first of its kind at the Cluster House residence.

Staff served hamburgers, and hot dogs, as well as fried chicken, baked fish, string beans, potato salad, rice and beans, Cesar salad, and pound cake.

Residents came out in full force to enjoy the food, weather and their neighbors.

I think this is great. I love that Urban Pathways does these events for their residents. It gets people out of their apartments and helps in making new friends.” –Jonathan

Residents at Cluster have a range of activities to take part in on a monthly basis such as: yoga, photography, and book clubs to name a few. Having a surprise barbecue proved to be the perfect ending to a summer in New York.

Help us continue to provide #thewayhome to homeless and at-risk New Yorkers.
